LETTING YOU GO by Ojo Victoria Ilemobayo

 LETTING YOU GO

Today, the sun refuses to lend her light.
The way you choose to nip your love

in the writhing leaves of my soul. I miss your
flowery blue smiles, your bosom; a cocoon

of comfort, you were my glow-in-the-dark.
I have vivid memories of how my confined

confidence flew, flamboyantly - when I'm with you.
Your voice, my darling, was a lake of calm.

Seconds after seconds, the breeze wiggles
with the footprints of your heart. My velvet is

an ocean whose waters soak my skin and looking
at its steady mirror, now, I trade this ton of tears

with the damp cloud. Darling, this is me unstrapping
you from us. To let you flee, to let you...
         G
           O.
