LETTING YOU GO by Ojo Victoria Ilemobayo
LETTING YOU GO
Today, the sun refuses to lend her light. The way you choose to nip your lovein the writhing leaves of my soul. I miss yourflowery blue smiles, your bosom; a cocoonof comfort, you were my glow-in-the-dark.I have vivid memories of how my confinedconfidence flew, flamboyantly - when I'm with you.Your voice, my darling, was a lake of calm.Seconds after seconds, the breeze wiggleswith the footprints of your heart. My velvet isan ocean whose waters soak my skin and lookingat its steady mirror, now, I trade this ton of tearswith the damp cloud. Darling, this is me unstrappingyou from us. To let you flee, to let you...GO.
